The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (PSTQ) has four distinct streams that cover all occupations within the Quebec labor market:
Highly Qualified and Specialized Skills, Intermediate and Manual Skills, Regulated Professions, and Exceptional Talent.
The PSTQ places greater emphasis on factors like Quebec-issued diplomas and work experience, particularly in regions outside major urban centers.
Here's a breakdown of the PSTQ streams:
• Stream 1: Highly Qualified and Specialized Skills:
This stream focuses on professionals with advanced degrees and specialized work experience, generally in TEER categories 0-2.
• Stream 2: Intermediate and Manual Skills:
This stream is for skilled tradespeople and workers with mid-level expertise, often in TEER categories 3-5.
• Stream 3: Regulated Professions:
This stream is for individuals working in professions that require a license to practice in Quebec (e.g., nurses, engineers).
• Stream 4: Exceptional Talent:
This stream is for individuals with unique achievements or skills that benefit Quebec's economy or culture.
Invitations to apply for permanent selection under the PSTQ will be issued gradually, with priority given to candidates proficient in French, who have studied or worked in Quebec, and who are employed in occupations facing labor shortages.
